BEST political statement 2018 (15)

This time, my second last pre-election post (before Election Day), the BEST political statement, has to go to Malaysiakini journalist Karamjit Singh, who wrote:

In the past, we saw rowdy behaviour from BN supporters. Unruliness and lack of respect in their mannerisms disgusted us.

Today, we are seeing the same kind of individuals supporting Harapan. The slanders and disparaging remarks made on social media to anybody that speak a different language to Harapan has turned many BN supporters into sleeper cells.

I deem the BEST political statement this time to be:

"The slanders and disparaging remarks made on social media to anybody that speak a different language to Harapan has turned many BN supporters into sleeper cells"

in which Karamjit meant those who have been driven underground for now by the Hell-Hounds may surprise us with their votes.

It's an indication and indictment of obnoxious intolerant rabid and feral behaviour of Pakatan supporters who spare no one from both sides of the political fence (including DAP Sangeet Kaur Singh, daughter of the late Karpal Singh), savaging anyone who commented with less than favour for their new icons (who were old UMNO icons, namely, Mahathir, Mukhriz, Muhyiddin, Anwar Ibrahim, Wan Azizah, Nurul Izzah, etc and the new DAP's Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and the Hallelujah Hordes).

Wakakaka - but on Election Day's evening I'll continue blogging (and commenting) on some of the progressive results as I did in previous elections.

  2. Just like the sleeper cells back in 2008 held a nasty surprise for the overconfident and raucous BN crowd, the sleeper cells might again hold a nasty surprise for those who were overconfident, arrogant and cocky towards anyone not of their own.

  3. My nomination for best (faux pas) political statement is by Arul Kanda at a Bangsar 1MDB roadshow: “I am not a member of the government” when there were about 20 workers wearing BN t-shirts sitting in front and the event took place they under a huge tent with large BN banners and flags flying.

  4. I have seen elections in the UK, US, Turkey, Lebanon and Austria.

There has never been any political system where you don't have supporters on all sides who are rude and insulting.

The mistake is to say that this is exclusive to BN or PH.
