Naughty Nurul

Malaysiakini - Halt postal voting immediately, Bersih tells EC (very short extract):

According to Nurul Izzah, existing laws are insufficient to protect individuals who have their "own opinions" or do not vote according to their employers' preferences – citing the case of Major Zaidi Ahmad, who was expelled from the Air Force for raising issues pertaining to the use of indelible ink.

That is so UNTRUE.

It's a fallacy that has become a pseudo-factoid, a politicised legend, by regular or ignorant bull.

In GE13, Major Zaidi was an unhappy and most dissatisfied voter who reported on an allegedly corrupt matter (I use the term 'corrupt' in its widest sense).

We need to know (recall) that in the EC most-delible indelible ink matter, three air force personnel made police reports but only two were court-martialed.

Why?

The answer to WHY is very important to dismiss the myth, fallacy and fake news of Major Zaidi Ahmad being expelled from the Air Force for raising issues pertaining to the use of indelible ink.

That's because the two who were court-martialed were those who, on top of making the police reports (their rights as a voter), went beyond that by making unauthorised press comments (or comments to the press) which was definitely NOT their right as members of the Armed Forces.

The 3rd person did NOT make any comment to the press and was NOT court-martialed. She was (is?) actually the wife of Major Zaidi.

To reiterate, Major Zaidi and his Flight-Sergeant were court-martialed because they violated Armed Forces rules and instructions NOT to make unauthorised press statements, which alas, both did. Thus, it was NOT the police report which got the two into trouble but the unauthorised act of making press statements.

Armed Forces personnel are (were then) legally bound to obey certain restrictions as laid down by the law and instructions - there are operational reasons for such restrictions.

These are Malaysian laws provided for under the Malaysian Constitution, not some quirky dictatorial laws laid down by some generals. Also see my letter to Malaysiakini titled Hang on a ding-dong minute, my dear Gen Blimp.

When armed forces officers violate rules, laws and instructions, they are not 'heroes' but violators of rules, laws and instructions. I hope sweetie Nurul read this and not worsen the TRUTH by perpetuating the fallacy.

  1. Nevertheless, what Nurul brought up is a very valid issue, not naughty at all.

In the Malaysian Armed Forces, There is a serious lack of secrecy and protection for those who vote contrary to the Federal Ruling Party.
Military ballot papers have serial numbers which are directly linkable to the serviceman's ID.
Commanding officers essentially have means to know who their subordinates cast their votes for.
There is Nothing they can do to actually change the ballots, but as they say, Actions have Consequences. There will be consequences for those who vote Opposition.
That is why in most military camps, the votes For BN are near unanimous , North Korea-style.

    1. again, Monsterball attempts to change the subject, which BTW, has been about Nurul's incorrect statement why Major Zaidi was sacked. He made UNAUTHORISED press statements, not because he reported to the police about the EC ink. Do not try to mask Nurul's fallacy

    2. This is what Malaysiakini reported on Nurul's statement.

Meanwhile, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said Pakatan Harapan will monitor the postal voting process to ensure nothing fraudulent takes place.

In a separate statement, she said that the approximately 150 percent jump in the number of advance and postal voters this time around, compared to the 400,000 in the 13th general election, may deprive ordinary voters of the chance to make their preferred parties the victor.

"My worry is the amassing of the postal voting system in favour of one party may cause the ruling coalition to win marginal parliamentary seats.

"This has happened before, like how they (BN) won 30 parliamentary seats in GE13 with a lower majority.

“Therefore, it is not impossible for the ruling coalition to regain the two-thirds majority in Parliament, with the help of lopsided postal votes in GE14," she said.
She urged the EC to impose more transparent and strict procedures in the postal voting process.

According to Nurul Izzah, existing laws are insufficient to protect individuals who have their "own opinions" or do not vote according to their employers' preferences – citing the case of Major Zaidi Ahmad, who was expelled from the Air Force for raising issues pertaining to the use of indelible ink

Very valid issue, very level-headed presentation from Nurul, as is typical from her.

I have expanded on it above, by giving examples from my own knowledge through conversations with retired servicemen.

It is Ktemoc who is trying to denigrate Nurul by simply zeroing on the example she brought up on the Major Zaidi incident, denying the validity of everything she has raised as an issue.

    3. again and again, Monster tries to distract attention from the issue of Nurul saying "he case of Major Zaidi Ahmad, who was expelled from the Air Force for raising issues pertaining to the use of indelible ink."

You could argue that Malaysiakini published fake news, or like CK, demand the actual recording of Nurul's statement

    4. r u not one that fond of saying lge go to jail for a malay girl, y now u look into technicalities n not causal?

    5. yes, I did often mention LGE wnet to jail for that girl - LGE took up that issue because of her grandmother who went to Lim. But because that girl subsequently made a SD which disavowed she had sex, LGE was "found to be lying". Satisfied?

On the issue today, Nurul was reported by MKINI as saying what I quoted in my post. Monsterball started on a tangential issue, obviously to distract form Nurul's lack of understanding of armed forces rules and instructions and stated a totally incorrect reason for Major Zaidi's sacking.

    6. She also cavorted with Jacel Kiram, being oblivious to tha person's ties with what happened in Lahad Datu. Her "lack of understanding" is bordering on ignorance.

    7. Blur as a sotong…!

Bloody proponent of "sin of the father"!

    8. The entire Kiram family are persona non grata here and they are wanted to stand trial for Lahad Datu.

You mean proponent of "sins of the father and brother" since one of them was shot dead here.

    9. Wakakakaka... the more u shot w/o thinking (maybe understanding), the more u r parading yr level of intelligence.

Keep up with yr act lah!

    10. Well, like I said. You have the inane (or insane perhaps?) ability to say a lot but not saying anything. That reflects on ur level of intelligence.

  2. Another of Nurul's fallacy is that Major Zaidi's complaint was on the indelible ink, not that he was forced, coerced, pressured, enticed, brainwashed, instructed, to vote for BN.

  3. Wakakaka...what's wrong with demanding the actual recording/statement?

Again, u r pandai by half in using this case to try to crawl yrself out of the hole u dig.

At least MKini produces Nurul's speech verbatim. While u r using The Start's piece as in "reportedly said".

If u can't provide the ORIGINAL then admitting u r fitnah-ing mamak with FAKE news lah.

    SIMPLE as that!!!
