Rendang-Wannabe

in Shambala we call it rendang

There was a man who works as a chef at the BBC
When confronted with a rendang he was all at sea
Very much to his chagrin
The chook had no crispy skin
But forgive his silly tastes, he wanted rendang KFC

Wakakaka

There was another man who wished us all 'namaste'
Thinking that'd be good as we have come a long way
His geography stops at India
Or in a London Bombay cafeteria
But he didn't realise his nonsense f**ked up our day

Wakakaka again

  2. Last year, Discovery Channel broadcast a very good series of a food tour of Malaysia, hosted by John Torode, who was also a judge for the Master Chef contest.
He is no stranger to Malaysia, and the episode on Penang food was excellent.

  3. This was what was reported in The Star.
[John Torode's "Malaysian Adventure" for the Good Food channel in United Kingdom aired in 2015.

And in one of the episodes that was filmed in Langkawi, he learns about cooking duck rendang from a local chef there.

However, he is seen in the episode only trying the rendang sauce, not the meat. He gave it a thumbs up.]

He didn't partake a proper taste of rendang, hence his misconception.

  4. pia's the padi, langkawi offer one of the best rendang, but bloody expensive for such a small bowl. pricing is aim not to msian?

perhaps its a good idea to cook rendang with crispy chicken. some might like march of the volunteer in rock or reggea version, so the advice is not to bring something national or traditional into a contest, some judges dun give a damn.

    1. Pathetic. Its just fried chicken dipped in rendang sauce. Doesn't mean if I dipped KFC into Campbells soup, I will get Crispy Cream of Mushroom.
