Muhyiddin crossed the Rubicon

Well well well! It seems good olde Muhyiddin Yassin, yes the very same quiet but low browed "I'm a Malay first and a Malaysian second" DPM, has finally made his move against Ah Jib Gor.

where the Rubicon river was/is

Did he do it to obey Mahathir? Who knows but my bet is yes, Muhyiddin must have finally accepted the push desperate shove by our eminence grise to depose Ah Jib Gor from the PM's position (and of course by default, from the UMNO party president appointment). Desperate needs require desperate moves, as desperate goes!

In his I told Najib to quit 1MDB but he didn't listen, it has been reported by TMI as follows:

He said 1MDB was something that could not be ignored and a solution had to be found.

"I am the first minister to make a stand on 1MDB even though the prime minister had made a decision on the matter. I said we should find a solution, not point fingers,” he said, he had been the most vocal in raising his concerns about the matter at the Umno supreme council and Cabinet meetings.

Muhyiddin said he had noted that the RM42 billion debt run up by 1MDB was a huge figure and had exceeded the budget allocations for some states in the country and was a burden to the country at a time when the ringgit was dropping.

"I have told the prime minister but I don’t dare say it in public as I fear it will be misconstrued and people will say that I was out to topple the prime minister. I don’t want a clash with the prime minister as our party is not strong,” he added.

Note in particular his "I have told the prime minister but I don’t dare say it in public as I fear it will be misconstrued and people will say that I was out to topple the prime minister".

Now that he HAS SAY it in PUBLIC, can we assume that he no longer fears being misconstrued and that he IS OUT to topple the PM?

This is getting interesting. I'm also now waiting for Pakatan 2.0 to bizarrely HAIL MUHYIDDIN as the new conquering hero, wakakaka, indeed as they had bizarrely hailed Mahathir, Musa Hitam and Ku Li as the needed troika to save Malaysia from the woes planted with poisonous seeds long ago by you-know-who, wakakaka.

Hail Caesar! We who are about to die salute you

To realize Muhyiddin has now gone for broke, irreversibly so, read also TMI's:

Stop attacking Dr Mahathir, it only weakens the party, Muhyiddin tells Umno

Umno will lose if general election held now, says Muhyiddin

If not The Edge, then which source can be trusted for 1MDB reports, asks Muhyiddin

Muhyiddin has finally crossed the Rubicon (or was shoved across by you-know-who, wakakaka) and thus it's either the end of him or Najib. There can now be no reconciliation between the two.

err ... Tun, the water seems a wee cold lah, bolih go-starn sikitkah?

Wakakaka, where's my kua-chee and rojak?

  1. I have never been impressed with Muhyiddin, so I am definitely no supporter of his.

However, he stated no less than 4 times in his speech that he was not trying to topple Najib.

Was it a case of "he doth protest too much" or he really was trying to make a case of "loyal criticism" to Najib ?

After all, what Muhyiddin said, about the only Understandable information on 1MDB being available from The Edge, while the Government response is confused and confusing, on UMNO facing deep public mistrust and electoral defeat if it cannot resolve the 1MDB issue soon, that Najib needs to leave the 1MDB advisory board, are actually far more sensible than the drivel has been coming from the mouths of Najib apparatchik Ministers like Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Shabery Chik and Zahid Hamidi.

  2. Well, there were rumours that there was going to be a cabinet reshuffle after Hari Raya.Maybe Muyhiddin got wind that Najib was going to show him the revolving door.So as a last resort,he got to take Mahathir's ultimatum of take it now or forever be banished from the PM'ship.Since he was going to get the sack,he has nothing to lose and is going for broke.

  3. Muyhiddin told Najib to step down from 1MDB and also to tell the truth. In other words he is telling everybody that Najib is lying. What Muyhiddin do not understand is that Ah Jib Gor is digging in and is going nowhere. But Muyhiddin is going somewhere.Going back to Johore and be a taikor in Iskandar.

  4. I would prefer Ah Jib Gor over Muhyiddin anytime. Most probably Zahid will take over as DPM if Muhyiddin gets the sack. Then Ah Jib Gor will be energize and will be wielding his "big stick" at the opposition. The opposition will definitely regret for conspiring bringing down Jibby's administration.

  5. I am surprised indeed. DPM Muhyiddin should resign to show that he is not interested in the No. 1 position. If he does not resign it is indeed an et tu Brute.

Quote - "Two years before, Brutus had joined Gaius Cassius Longinus in the plot against the Roman dictator Julius Caesar, believing he was striking a blow for the restoration of the Roman Republic. However, the result of Caesar’s assassination was to plunge the Roman world into a new round of civil wars, with the Republican forces of Brutus and Cassius vying for supremacy against Octavian and Mark Antony. After being defeated by Antony at a battle in Philippi, Greece, in October 42 B.C., Cassius killed himself. On October 23, Brutus’ army was crushed by Octavian and Antony at a second encounter at Philippi, and Brutus took his own life." - Unquote

  9. Ayoyo....Muhyiddin confirmed all those Cabinet Ministers defending Najib and attacking 1MDB critics are doing so from either blind loyalty or self-serving jockeying...

None of them has any more knowledge or information about 1MDB....

Probably the case with all those Bloggers who are defending Najib or attacking those who criticise 1MDB .....

  12. The ways things are going Najib will be going nowhere. And he will definitely come out stronger after this 1MDB fiasco is over.I am Malay first,Muhyiddin is toast.

As much as I would like to see the opposition kick Umno out of Putrajaya, the mess and desperation they are in tells us that they will be licking their wounds come the next GE.Their willingness to join forces with Mahathir to kick out Najib (who if still in power, will be leading a sure lose Umno/BN into GE 14) tells us that Umno/BN will be roosting in Putrajaya for a very long time to come. Why would the opposition want to help Mahathir kick out Najib, when the opposition will sure win GE14 with Najib leading the charge?Go figure.
