Myanmar's Tomulus & Temus

The legend of Rome’s founders, Romulus and Remus speaks of the twins being fed by a female wolf.

In Myanmar, we had the reverse where a Rangoon woman Hla Htay answered the zoo’s appeal to breast-feed two tiger cubs which were rejected by their animal mum.

Sadly they didn’t take to human milk well, and aggravated by the prevailing heat, died of dehydration.
